Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai starrer ‘Guzaarish’ is another opulent and eye-arresting product from the colourful factory of ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. One of the most awaited films of the year, this is a poetry on celluloid and is remarkable for its clever and sublime cinematic rendition.
Bhansali, after his cult films like Black, Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, churns out another fable that is replete in poignancy and smeared with emotions. The story spins around Hrithik who plays a wheelchair-bound patient of quadriplegia nursed day and night by his caring nurse essayed exuberantly by Aishwarya.
Aishwarya’s Sophie almost mothers him as she brushes his teeth, bathes him, scratches his nose and oils his hair. Hrithik’s Ethan can’t move a muscle beneath his neck and his paralytic rendition will not only tug at your heart but also ask you to ponder.
Living for 14 years in such a life of dreary despondency, he seeks mercy killing from the court. Aishwarya, despite her unfathomable love towards him, supports him in his decision and thus brings forth a love that is painstakingly profound and unearthly.
With brilliant cinematography and soul-stirring music, the film is one of the finest pieces of artistic cinema and is bound to leave an indelible mark in your heart. Make sure that you watch it because another film of such magnitude may not come out for quite some time.
